Global Supplier Payment
Introduction
Treasury Autopilot enables businesses to pay suppliers in different countries efficiently, even when funds are held in other currency accounts. This use case is targeted towards B2B trading companies, global procurement teams, and supply chain businesses that need to make cross-currency supplier payments on time, every time.
For example, a Singapore-based trading company with USD revenue needs to pay a supplier in China in CNY, a supplier in Germany in EUR, and a logistics partner in Thailand in THB — all from different currency balances across their World Account.
Example
Let's say you are a global trading company headquartered in Singapore. You collect payments from buyers in USD and EUR, but your suppliers are spread across China, Germany, and Thailand, each requiring payment in their local currency. Without treasury autopilot capabilities, you would need to manually check balances, request FX quotes separately, and initiate payments through different banking portals.
The high-level user journey looks like the following:
- You check your available balances across all currency accounts using Query Account Balance API.
- You register your China supplier as a recipient using Create a Beneficiary API.
- You get an FX quote for USD to CNY conversion using Create a Quote API.
- You execute the payout with built-in FX using Create a Payout API.
- You track the payment status via payouts webhooks.
Building it with WorldFirst
Checking source balance
Before initiating any payment, call Query Account Balance
API
to confirm sufficient available funds in the source currency account. This prevents failed transactions due to insufficient balance.Registering suppliers as beneficiaries
Each supplier must be registered as a beneficiary before you can make a payout. Call Create a Beneficiary
API
with the supplier's bank details, including their bank name, account number, and SWIFT/BIC code. WorldFirst verifies the beneficiary details for compliance before the beneficiary becomes active.Getting FX quotes for cross-currency payments
When paying a supplier in a currency different from your source account, call Query Rates
API
to check the current exchange rate, then Create a Quote API
to lock a binding rate. Quotes are time-bound — if expired, create a new one before proceeding.Executing payouts with FX
Call Create a Payout
API
with the recipient ID, amount, and optional FX quote reference. WorldFirst handles the currency conversion and payment delivery in a single operation. For RTP-supported currencies like CNY, EUR, and THB, payments arrive instantly.Tracking payment status
