Capability Models

Introduction

Global Spend is built on a two-layer capability model: a Base Layer that every client receives automatically upon opening a World Account, and a Value-Add Layer that can be stacked on top based on specific business needs. The base layer covers the complete cross-border payment lifecycle, while the value-add layer extends into China-bound settlement and corporate expense management.
This layered design ensures that most clients can get started with the base layer alone, and only add complexity when their business scenario requires it.

Base Layer

The Base Layer is the minimum viable capability set for Global Spend. All clients who open a World Account automatically receive these features:

Global Accounts

Allocate multi-currency local collection accounts. Each Collection account corresponds to a local bank account, enabling payers to send funds via local clearing networks for T+0 settlement.

Balance

Manage multi-currency balances with real-time visibility and automated notifications.

FX

Competitive foreign exchange with both spot and forward capabilities.
Spot FX is suitable for immediate funding needs. Forward FX is ideal for businesses with scheduled future exchange plans (e.g., monthly CNY settlement), allowing you to lock in rates and reduce volatility risk.

Payout

Global disbursement with clearing network selection and local wallet support.
Clearing network selection: When initiating a payout, clients can specify the clearing network via the
clearing_network
parameter (e.g., SEPA, FPS, SWIFT). If not specified, the system automatically selects the optimal route based on the target country/currency. Available networks are governed by the Eligibility Rule Engine.
Local wallet support:
The local wallet list is continuously expanding, subject to the Eligibility Rule Engine.

Reporting

Transaction statements and report exports for reconciliation.

Value-Add Layer

Value-add capabilities are stacked on top of the base layer without modifying base functionality:

Pay CNY to China — Settlement into China

Settle foreign income into CNY and credit it to a Chinese bank account or Alipay account.
Business rules:
Note: Pay CNY to China is not for every client — only for those with China income repatriation needs.

Virtual World Card Expense Management

Issue and manage virtual World Cards for corporate expense control.
Supported payment methods:
Control mechanisms:
VCC three-layer defence:
Note:
  • Virtual Card is subject to country restrictions — CN/IN registered entities are not eligible.
  • Spending is deducted directly from the WA balance pool with no separate top-up required.
