Digital entertainment platforms increasingly operate creator ecosystems that span multiple markets, currencies and payout methods. As creator networks scale, paying thousands of streamers, influencers and content partners becomes more than a simple bank-transfer process.
Currently, WorldFirst supports creator earnings payouts to bank accounts through Mass Payout. This flexible payout infrastructure allows platforms to choose between two models:
- Directly paying creator earnings to external accounts
- Embedding a creator wallet that lets creators hold, convert, spend and withdraw their earnings within the platform ecosystem
Client Profile
Client: MiraLive Network (fictional)
Let's imagine a fictitious live-streaming and creator platform named MiraLive. This platform collects revenue from audiences globally and distributes a portion of that revenue to creators based on virtual gifts, subscriptions and other monetisation activities.
As its creator network expands internationally, MiraLive needs a scalable way to manage creator earnings across different markets without building separate banking, payout and reconciliation processes for every country.
Depending on the level of financial experience MiraLive wants to provide to its creators, it can adopt either a Direct Payout Model or an Embedded Creator Wallet Model.
Business Model
Lets's have a look at the following business model to better understand how the creator platform paying creators' earnings directly to their external accounts.
Direct Global Payout
This model is designed for platforms that primarily need a simple and scalable way to distribute creator earnings globally.
What would the flow of Direct Payout Model look like:
Audience Spend → Platform Revenue → Revenue Share → Global Payout → Creator Bank Account / E-wallet
In the direct payout model, MiraLive first collects audience revenue and calculates the amount payable to each creator.
Once creator earnings are confirmed, payout instructions are sent through a single global payout infrastructure. Funds are then delivered to the creator's preferred supported destination, such as a local bank account or e-wallet.
For example, when the Audience Spend is USD 100, the funds to be distributed will be calculated and disburse to each of the creator in the following way:

Figure 1. Funds flow of the creator economy
By distributing earnings through this business model, creators does not need to maintain a separate wallet account with the payment provider.
